Christmas Cross Challenge

Thanks to Crazy Water and Dallas Bike works for sponsoring the Christmas Cross Challenge. This was the Texas Skill-based State Championship. The day was filled with racing for all cyclocross categories. The highlight of the day was the P/1/2 race which stared at 2:30. Bryan Fawley took an early lead in the first few laps, but Jonny Sundt was able to close up to Bryan. Bryan and Jonny dueled it out close on each others wheel the rest of the race. The race finished with Jonny winning as he was able to get a gap on the last few turns of the course.

Bryan Fawley at the woodlands cross Saturday Jan 9th 2010. Bryan crashed bad on the first lap, but worked his way back into the lead late in the race. He went on for the win.

Dallas Cross Weekend – Huge Success

The Dallas Cross weekend was a huge success last weekend. Bryan Fawley hosted two of the three races out of the Duck Creek area in Garland. From Park Place – Bryan won all three events, while Steve placed in the top ten each day.

A stranger provides inspiration on a muddy weekend

Wiped out after a rough and muddy race.

We all know that to reach the top level of any sport one must be dedicated to the effort. There’s the maintenance of one’s diet, training and recovery, and then there’s the endless logistics of flying across the country, renting cars, sorting out hotels, and navigating to race venues. Often, all of this seems harder than the racing itself. Doing all of it alone makes everything even more challenging.

The Cyclocross bike of Ryan Trebon, current national champion. I got to work the pit for Bryan, while I was there I took some pictures of the some of the bikes the pros were riding. I think if Fawley were to sit on this bike, his feet would hit the top tube.
